Exhibition runs from October 27th- November 17th 2012

This project began as an attempt to impose a personal aesthetic style on what can be difficult photographic subject matter. Shot during the summer of 2012 when colours in the landscape can be fairly uniform, one aim was to address the problem of why the camera does not record what the viewer perceives.

While there are numerous physical and technical reasons why this is so, the fact remains that the viewer's emotional state plays an important part. In short, we see what we want to see, while all a digital camera can do is translate light into numbers.

This is no problem for a painter who may decide freely what is best for the work created.I have tried to take the same approach.

The outcome has been more subtle than I first imagined. Whether that implies success or failure is debatable.
